Poetry Series - Chaotic Beauty

She stumbles into the cafe, hair in an entangled messy bun, her face smiles but her eyes don't shine. Her eyes feel cold. The kind of cold that hits you when someone opens the car door in winter. The cold wind blows to remind us of the challenges, of the tests, of the reality, that we may try to conquer nature and her extremes, but ultimately she can't be tamed.

Poetry Series - Weaning Zoloft Diary

Be careful. I promise to try. I just can't promise your heart will be safe with me.

That place, deep down, inside where you initiate your own thoughts, why does it feel so hard to find it? To stay with it. To activate life from within it? If I stayed there longer I could hide from the discomfort of modern living.

Those closest to us are always the last to recognize the signs of genuine change, always choosing to see you as they have created in their minds.

Who is the better person? The one who puts up the good fight or the one that walks away?

10 ft tall; 10 ft long;10 ft higher;10 ft lower; what's it matter if you can't elevate past your circumstances? Success is not just how far up, down, or all around you move, but more so how far can you within?

Choosing myself always in all the ways has been a journey full of surprises and also excruciatingly painful. The beauty is in the balance of it all.

Insert external factor: thought, person, show, feeling, circumstances, argument, memory...Now practice the release of choosing to align from within. Repeat: I won't follow you. Replace with: I will follow things that are in my highest alignment.

Poetry Series - Seat at the table

We try.

We strive.

We aim and we persevere until the goal just isn't as shiny.

One day you wake up and realize one of two things;

either you don't need a seat at that table, even though you can make your own seat, or better yet...

create your own damn table Queen.

Poetry Series - Just passing through

She often wonders how many lives she has lived. Is this the same geography from any past lives? If those that have made an impact in her life were just passing through as a blessing or angels in disguise? She says her prayers and intentions to have answers arrive in her dreams.

Poetry Series - Let the sunlight creep in

Let the sunlight creep in

She always desired a plant in the bathroom. One day, a friend gave her a bookshelf. After tinkering with where to place it, he suggested the bathroom. A few weeks later, one of the plants isn't doing too well. She asks him to keep the shades open so the sunlight can creep in. He thinks that is annoying because he doesn't have privacy when using the bathroom, or rather the sun hits his face as he urinates. That happens to be her favorite part about the sun creeping in...the way it tenderly caresses her face.
